5…4…3…2…1 blast off!

CMIT Tigers enjoyed a fantastic program from Mobile Ed Productions.  This unique production company brought a planetarium to our very own Tiger’s Den.

CMIT scholars went on a 45-minute tour of the solar system and journeyed through the universe in a  portable, inflatable planetarium all from the comfort of our very own school.

When the students entered the dome they were introduced to a “star filled” sky.  The navigator with the use of a digital planetarium projector and a laser pointer, guided them through the stars of the Northern Hemisphere exactly as they appeared on that day of the presentation!

Our young scholars learned how to identify every planet in our solar system in dramatic “flights” towards each world.  They were also introduced to Greek mythological characters and saw how these heroes of the past could be found in the stars.  Students witnessed the night sky in different seasons and from different global perspectives.  The Sky Dome Planetarium was a true learning experience of Greek constellations, the Milky Way galaxy, the sun and all the planets, and of course the Moon.
